Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Security Investigator to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for providing investigative services and responding to threats, offences, or Code of Conduct violations against people or BMO property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations and provide consultation and analysis to business groups.
  • Implement strategic priorities in alignment with standards and operating procedures.
  • Oversee the provision of advice, guidance, and direction on a range of complex issues and initiatives.
  • Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Investigate and respond to threats or offences against people or BMO property.
  • Prepare timely and concise investigative reports.
  • Escalate risks and emerging trends to mitigate risks and financial exposure from misconduct and criminal activity.
  • Represent BMO in criminal and civil court when required.
  • Ensure that measures are taken to protect BMO personnel and assets from misconduct and criminal activity.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to safety and security standards, systems, equipment, and procedures.
  • Ensure all possible measures are taken to recover losses and prevent or reduce further losses due to fraud.
  • Assist with the controlled management of situations affecting people, information, or property of BMO.
  • Represent BMO on fraud-related committees and industry working groups.
  • Work with external stakeholders to understand the competitive landscape, keep abreast of industry developments, and to represent BMO's interests.
Qualifications
  • Typically, 10+ years of related investigative experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of criminal law and investigative principles, practices, and policies in a large multi-product, multi-business environment.
  • Strong knowledge of risk and regulatory requirements and management as they apply to fraud and other criminal risk.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the business unit's key products and services, technologies, processes, and controls.
  • Strong knowledge of internal control processes.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of banking and computer systems.
  • Working knowledge of the criminal justice system, criminal law, and rules of evidence.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
  • Experience with conducting interviews.
  • Verbal and written communication skills - In-depth.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth.
