Island Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Psychiatrist to join our team. As a key member of our psychiatric services, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our mental health programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient facilities.
- Collaborate with emergency department staff, primary care providers, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
- Conduct educational sessions for nursing and MHSU staff on care plan development and treatment planning.
- Participate in case management meetings and clinical administration meetings to ensure seamless patient care.
- Liaise with community institutions and services to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Contribute to quality assurance projects to improve patient outcomes and services.
As a General Psychiatrist with Island Health, you may be eligible for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidy agreement, including:
- Retention Premium 6.09% on MSP and sessional billings
- Retention Flat Fee $74.60
- Recruitment Incentive up to $10,000
Additionally, you may be eligible for Rural CME funding, including:
- Years 3 & 4: $3,000 per annum
- After 4 years: $6,000 per annum
