Island Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Psychiatrist to join our team. As a key member of our psychiatric services, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our mental health programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient facilities.
- Collaborate with emergency department staff, primary care providers, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
- Participate in case management meetings and contribute to quality assurance projects.
- Liaise with community institutions and services to ensure seamless patient care.
- May be eligible for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidy agreement.
- Access to professional development opportunities, including rural CME funding.
- Eligible for licensure in British Columbia.
- Experience in psychiatric care, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
