Job Title: Beauty Salon Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Beauty Salon Attendant to join our team at Harwood Salon and Spa & HK Computers and Gift Shop. As a Beauty Salon Attendant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and supporting the salon team in various tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the reception desk, waiting area, and treatment rooms.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting clients, answering phone calls, and responding to emails.
  • Assist with shampooing customers' hair, performing receptionist duties, and maintaining and ordering supplies.
  • Book appointments and manage the salon's schedule.
  • Support the salon team in various tasks, including maintaining and ordering supplies, and assisting with special events.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, including housing, transportation, and storage.
  • Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
  • Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
  • Support newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition.
  • Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
Support for Youths:
  • Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
  • Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth.
  • Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth.
  • Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
  • Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
  • Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
