Position Overview: Human Resources Generalist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage daily HR operations across multiple offices.
  • Work closely with the payroll team to ensure accurate employee payroll and benefits information, managing employee updates and facilitating onboarding and offboarding through the HRIS.
  • Lead the recruitment process from start to finish, including crafting and updating job descriptions, posting positions, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and collaborate with hiring managers to ensure smooth integration of new employees into the company culture.
  • Develop and recommend onboarding strategies to enhance the new hire experience.
  • Administer and provide information on the employee benefits program.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records throughout the employee lifecycle in the HRIS, generating necessary reports.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for employee and manager inquiries, ensuring timely and policy-compliant responses.
  • Support the annual performance management process.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR processes and programs.
  • Conduct effective exit interviews and provide management with insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the national HR team on various projects aimed at improving communication of HR programs across the organization.
  • Participate as an active member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee, implementing health and safety policies to ensure compliance and a safe workplace.
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Manage and coordinate employee training programs.
  • Assist in organizing corporate meetings and events.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and social activities.
Qualifications:
  • A Degree, Diploma, or certificate in Human Resources or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience.
  • HR certification (e.g., CPHR) or progress towards certification is an asset.
  • Familiarity with various HR functions, including recruitment, orientation, compensation and benefits, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Strong understanding of employment and health and safety legislation.
  • Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems; familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce is advantageous.
  • Experience supporting employees across multiple locations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of payroll and benefits processes is a strong asset.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • High adaptability and strong interpersonal skills for diverse environments.
  • Strong ethical standards and ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Attention to detail in all tasks.
  • High integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of staff, including management.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
