About the Role:

As an Occupational Therapist with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing pediatric rehabilitation services to children, youth, and families. You will be part of an integrated child health team, working collaboratively to provide evidence-informed services that align with our Child & Youth Health Services (CYHS) principles and service priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive services, including triage, screening, consultation, assessment, diagnosis, collaborative goal setting, treatment, prevention, self-management, education, case management, referral, transition support, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders and supports.
  • Engage individuals, groups, and communities to enable meaningful and chosen occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure.
  • Support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence related to their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations.
  • Collaborate with clients and families in determining, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitation.
  • Participate in interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich support, and engage in quality improvement.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
  • Demonstrated competencies in working with pediatric and youth populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Experience in rural settings.
  • Experience working with infants, children, and youth.
  • AADL Authorizer.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
