Occupational Therapy Position

Alberta Health Services is in search of a committed Occupational Therapist to enhance their workforce. This position requires functioning in a dynamic setting, primarily within acute care environments, delivering thorough evaluations and therapeutic interventions. The successful applicant will work alongside a diverse team to ensure optimal patient care and effective discharge strategies. Our Rehabilitation Department provides continuous mentorship and educational prospects, along with exposure to a variety of experiences within the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver evidence-based services aimed at improving occupational performance
  • Engage clients to facilitate meaningful activities
  • Assist clients in attaining functional skills and independence
  • Collaborate with clients and their families in rehabilitation processes
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams focused on quality enhancement
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists
  • Strong clinical judgment and analytical skills
  • Experience in a collaborative team setting
  • Familiarity with software applications such as Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent experience in adult inpatient acute care
  • Experience with complex medical patient demographics
  • Knowledge of community resources and discharge planning
  • Experience in guiding Occupational Therapy students
