Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their maximum potential and independence.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide evidence-informed services to patients with a focus on occupational performance. This will involve assessing patients' needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, treatment, and education
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet patients' needs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to occupational therapy services
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a critical care or acute care environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with complex patient populations, including those with chronic disease management, pulmonary, or end-of-life care
  • Assessment and treatment skills in areas such as edema management, wound care, cognition, pressure injury/positioning, and scar management
  • Connect Care training
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
