Job Summary

Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba Inc. is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Intake Worker. This is a full-time permanent role that requires strong organizational and administrative skills, as well as the ability to assess risk in child protection situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for new referrals by phone, mail, or walk-in.
  • Assess referrals to determine whether they fall within the parameters of the Child and Family Services Act.
  • Take necessary steps to protect a child in situations where immediate action is required.
  • Adhere to administrative requirements of the agency, province, and Four Authorities.
  • Provide support and guidance to families and individuals in need.
Requirements
  • BSW or MSW preferred with a background in Child and Family Services.
  • Eligible for registration with the College of Social Work preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and several years of experience in Child and Family Services.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated skill and judgment in assessing risk in child protection situations.
