Job Title: Early Childhood Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at Happy Kids Castle Daycare. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre and contributing to the development of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess children's development and create personalized learning plans to meet their needs.
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Develop and implement engaging child-care programs that promote cognitive, emotional, and social growth.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment by cleaning and organizing daycare equipment.
  • Engage children in storytelling, singing, and educational activities that foster creativity and learning.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Communicate with parents through regular updates on their child's progress and well-being.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote children's development.
  • Lead activities, such as storytelling, singing, and educational outings, to promote learning and fun.
  • Assist in record-keeping and data collection to track children's progress.
  • Encourage children to express themselves through art, music, and physical activity.
  • Guide children in developing good eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for meals and rest periods.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral issues and report to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and any concerns.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations and ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
