POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Data Scientist will play a pivotal role in advancing Artificial Intelligence-based sensing technologies tailored for the food and agriculture industry. This individual will immediately engage in the creation and execution of AI Platforms that leverage a variety of machine learning techniques. The development of machine learning models will encompass, but not be limited to, artificial neural networks, deep learning, self-learning systems, and support vector machines (SVMs) for diverse client applications. Furthermore, the Senior Data Scientist should possess knowledge of data processing techniques, including image analysis, signal processing, and pattern detection.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the evolution of Savormetrics' AI Platform,
  • Lead the design and implementation of machine learning models, including artificial neural networks, deep learning, self-learning systems, and SVMs for various client needs,
  • Engage in the development of feature engineering methodologies,
  • Assist in the design and deployment of analytical software solutions for clients,
  • Participate in the creation and execution of data collection and interpretation software solutions,
  • Comprehend overall client product specifications and their implications for AI training and predictive modeling,
  • Utilize research and client datasets to develop innovative algorithms aimed at enhancing accuracy and efficiency for hardware devices,
  • Organize, manage, and analyze extensive datasets for research and product development,
  • Ensure the appropriate software platforms are integrated with hardware for optimal performance, meeting client expectations,
  • Rapidly acquire domain knowledge of the business sectors being targeted,
  • Design, implement, and report on commercial testing,
  • Support the development and participation in workshops, conferences, and other events, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders,
  • Provide secondary support for client inquiries,
  • Collaborate effectively with all team members,
  • Fulfill additional work-related responsibilities as assigned,
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required;
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in machine learning, artificial neural networks, deep learning, statistical learning, pattern recognition, and image processing for information extraction and interpretation;
  • Familiarity with image processing methodologies;
  • Experience with software/hardware integration is advantageous;
  • Background in optics or scientific instrumentation is beneficial.
