Job Summary

The Service Finance Coordinator is a key member of the SSMU team, responsible for providing financial support to the organization. This role involves assisting the Vice President Finance in managing the Society's financial services, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Vice President Finance in preparing and managing the Society's budget, including forecasting and financial planning.
  • Provide financial support to the Society's services, including processing transactions, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SSMU's financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President Finance to identify areas for cost savings and implement process improvements.
  • Provide training and support to students involved in SSMU services on financial procedures and policies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the SSMU Board and other stakeholders.
  • Perform other financial duties as assigned by the Vice President Finance.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of SSMU's financial systems and procedures.
  • Experience in a financial role, preferably in a non-profit organization.

Working Conditions

This is a paid position with a competitive hourly rate. The successful candidate will be required to work an average of 10 hours per week, with flexibility to adjust to meet the needs of the organization.
