Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Metalworking Machine Operator to join our team at Lolimpin Gym Equipment Ltd. as a Heavy Machinery Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating metal cleaning equipment, transporting raw materials and finished products, and performing various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our industrial facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Metal Cleaning Equipment: Safely operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.
  • Transport Raw Materials and Finished Products: Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant manually.
  • Perform Various Tasks: Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials; grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools; clean machines and immediate work areas; polish metal products to a mirror finish; and read and interpret work orders.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, or equivalent experience.
  • Work Site Environment: The work site environment is dusty, hot, and noisy.
  • Work Setting: The work setting is in a metal products manufacturing company, heavy machinery manufacturing, or an industrial facility or establishment.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Memberships, and Courses: A Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate is required.
  • Area of Specialization: Welding.
  • Security and Safety: The candidate must be bondable.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: The job requires repetitive tasks, physical demands, manual dexterity, attention to detail, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Weight Handling: The candidate must be able to handle weights up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • Own Tools/Equipment: The candidate must provide their own tools, steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, and a hard hat.
  • Personal Suitability: The candidate must be reliable, a team player, and resourceful.

  • Language: English.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
