Position Overview:
We are seeking a committed individual to join our team as a Memory Care Attendant. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by delivering exceptional care and fostering meaningful connections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized care services to residents experiencing dementia or cognitive challenges, ensuring respect and dignity in every interaction.
- Collaborate with the care team to adhere to infection control protocols, promoting a safe environment for both residents and staff.
- Assist with recreational activities, housekeeping duties, and laundry tasks as assigned.
- Respond to the medical, physical, and emotional needs of residents, working closely with the Memory Care Manager and Health and Wellness Manager.
- Facilitate meal services, including setup, serving, and assisting residents with mobility and dining.
- Encourage a person-centered approach to care, building positive relationships with residents and colleagues.
- Complete all required training and educational programs promptly.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Safe Food Handler's certification.
- Empathy and compassion for the elderly, particularly those with Alzheimer's and Dementia.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills to manage workload efficiently.
- Ability to interact with tact and diplomacy.
- Familiarity with medical equipment is advantageous.
- Previous experience in a personal care role is preferred.
All candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada. A Criminal Record Search, including a vulnerable sector check, will be required as part of the hiring process.
