Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a skilled HVAC/R Service Technician to join our team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and lifespan of our commercial building systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC/R and gas equipment in accordance with manufacturer and company specifications.
  • Complete digital work orders, detailed reports, and daily digital time summaries.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained and adhered to in accordance with company policy.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an HVAC/R service and maintenance position for commercial sites.

Work Experience Requirements

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements

  • Red Seal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Certification
  • Gas A (G1) Certification (or Apprentice)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Secret Security Clearance, as well as other site-specific clearances
  • Experience using mobile technologies an asset
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to read and work from HVAC, mechanical schematics, electrical schematics, line drawings, etc.
  • Knowledge in various electronic, pneumatic, and DDC control systems an asset
  • Strong mechanical ability and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
