Position Overview:
The University of Toronto is seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Educator to join our esteemed Temerty Faculty of Medicine. This role involves guiding second-year medical students through the Health Science Research (HSR) curriculum, which is pivotal in shaping their understanding of research methodologies and their application in healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate engaging tutorial sessions that encourage collaborative learning among small groups of students.
- Guide students in developing their practicum exercises, focusing on real-world research applications.
- Provide one-on-one mentorship to students, offering personalized feedback and support throughout their research projects.
- Evaluate student participation and performance, ensuring constructive assessments that promote academic growth.
- Collaborate with the HSR Director to enhance course materials and teaching strategies.
Teaching Structure:
The HSR curriculum comprises two years, with a specific focus on Year 2 for this position. The teaching methods include:
- E-modules: Online modules designed to introduce key research principles.
- Tutorial Sessions: Interactive small group discussions to deepen understanding of course content.
- Practicum Exercise: A longitudinal project allowing students to apply their research knowledge in a practical setting.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D., MD, or MD/Ph.D. is required.
- Proven experience in research design and execution in healthcare settings.
