Job Overview / Qualifications
Job Summary
As a Co-op, you will gain practical experience as a Mechanical Technician by collaborating closely with our manufacturing team and various departments.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Operate and set up CNC machinery while achieving daily production targets.
• Engage in product manufacturing and conduct quality inspections.
• Interpret production work orders and complete all necessary documentation.
• Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in maintaining 5S standards in the workplace.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Comply with all safety policies, regulations, and guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope
Selects appropriate processes based on established rules, past practices, or instructions. Seeks guidance from supervisors for non-routine or complex issues. Works under close supervision, exercising limited independent judgment. Tasks typically require detailed checks or close review by a senior colleague or supervisor. No supervisory responsibilities.Work Environment
Generally situated in a comfortable indoor setting, with potential exposure to mild physical discomfort from elements such as dust, fumes, or temperature variations. Most time is spent in a stationary position or standing/walking, with some requirement to lift or handle materials or equipment weighing between 8-20 pounds. No travel is necessary.Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED is strongly preferred. 0-2 years of relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications / Job Specific Details
• At least 6 months of relevant experience.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing setting with knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and utilizing measuring tools such as Vernier calipers, Micrometers, and tape measures.
• Senior year Mechanical Technician – CNC / Engineering Student with an understanding of CNC Programming and G-codes.
