POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Head of Development and Marketing, the Assistant in Marketing and Communications will play a vital role in supporting marketing initiatives and engagement strategies for the Art Gallery of Windsor.

This position involves collaboration across departments to enhance the visibility of the gallery's exhibitions, programs, and membership offerings. The Assistant will contribute significantly to the development and dissemination of digital content for the gallery's website, social media platforms, and promotional materials, thereby advancing the gallery's marketing objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Create compelling content to promote the gallery's exhibitions and events, while managing the social media content calendar
  2. Assist in drafting press releases and managing media relations
  3. Support the maintenance and updates of the gallery's website
  4. Provide assistance for in-person events and promotional activities, including occasional evening and weekend work
  5. Perform additional tasks as required

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. A completed post-secondary education in Marketing, Communication Design, Visual Arts, Arts Administration, or a related field;
  2. OR at least one year of relevant experience in social media content management
  3. A passion for art and contemporary visual culture
  4. Proficiency in graphic design and content creation for various social media channels;
  5. Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft 365 and design tools
  6. Experience with web content management systems and social media management tools
  7. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks;
  8. The capability to work both independently and collaboratively
  9. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities
