Key Responsibilities:
- Manage construction initiatives and deliver advanced building science solutions, including restoration engineering and building envelope design.
- Establish yourself as a reliable partner to top asset managers involved in the enhancement of extensive national building portfolios.
- Collaborate with various WSP teams, particularly those focused on Property Condition Assessments and Engineering services.
- Make informed project decisions aligned with WSP's core principles.
- Implement Triple Bottom Line (financial, social, and environmental) considerations in every client project.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols at all project sites, prioritizing WSP's Life Saving rules.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and work alongside senior technical experts nationwide to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Conduct evaluations of building components to assess design and repair alternatives, along with periodic site reviews during projects.
- Prepare client proposals, investigative reports, and construction documentation.
- Offer technical guidance to clients and oversee project teams (consultants and contractors).
- Administer contracts and ensure quality control during the construction phase of restoration projects.
- Assess contractor performance to guarantee project objectives and quality standards are met.
- Keep clients informed of site-related issues affecting project quality and address concerns as necessary.
- Lead project team initiation meetings, delegate tasks, and identify any resource or training gaps.
- Regularly update the Project Director on project status and any issues impacting quality and client relations.
- Review and authorize deliverables or documents as required, adhering to the established signing authority.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, building science, architectural science, or a related construction discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in building sciences, engineering, or architecture.
- P.Eng. designation is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated success in managing restoration and construction projects for large commercial, institutional, and/or residential structures.
- Comprehensive understanding of building materials and construction processes related to roof and building envelope design and repairs.
- Ability to swiftly identify and address project challenges and opportunities.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys working with other dynamic professionals.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong presentation abilities.
