**Fluent French and Quebec PEng Required**

In your role as a Protection Engineer, your daily responsibilities may include:

  • Designing, developing, and executing protection and control strategies for power systems, focusing on relay protection and control systems.
  • Establishing protective relay configurations for utilities, substations, and industrial clients.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, engineers, and technicians, to evaluate system needs and implement appropriate protection measures.
  • Conducting system testing and commissioning to confirm the effectiveness and performance of protection strategies.
  • Adhering to and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

This position may be a good fit for you if:

  • You possess a B.S. degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • You have a solid grasp of power system protection concepts, relay protection and control systems, and relay coordination methodologies.
  • You are knowledgeable about relevant industry standards, including IEEE, IEC, and NERC/FERC regulations.
  • You have demonstrable experience in designing and executing protection and control systems within utility or industrial environments.
  • You exhibit strong problem-solving abilities and can analyze intricate power system protection issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineers License in the province of Quebec.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in electric power systems or industrial automation practices.
  • Proven expertise in system protection, protective relays, their applications, settings, and testing.
  • Experience with PSSE, ETAP, and/or RTDS, along with strong knowledge of electrical power systems.
  • Fluency in both French and English (oral and written).
  • Willingness to travel.

Pay Range:

The anticipated salary for this position is between $82,000.00 and $146,800.00, depending on experience and qualifications. Our pay structure is based on job responsibilities and location, ensuring fair compensation for all employees.
