Job Title: Lead Hand

Brandt is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Hand to join our team in Fort St. John. This role is responsible for overseeing the Service department and ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity while delivering high-quality repair work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and direct the workload of the Service department to meet productivity and quality standards.
  • Assist in the appraisal of repair orders and participate in repairs as needed.
  • Direct and assist technicians and apprentices in diagnosing machine problems and implementing repairs.
  • Inspect and repair special tools, recommending new tooling as required.
  • Communicate with the Shop Foreman or Service Manager regarding customer complaints and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Assist in coordinating and conducting quarterly safety meetings.
  • May fill in for the Shop Foreman or Service Manager in their absence.
  • May arrange for and participate in the reconditioning of used equipment and setup of new equipment.
  • May approve the release of equipment for delivery to customers.
  • Provide performance feedback to service technicians and staff.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience as a heavy duty service technician.
  • Journeyman certificate required.
  • Class 1 driver's license considered an asset.
  • Forklift license preferred.
  • Ability to work multiple shift patterns.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
