Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Child Development Specialist to join our team at Market Lane Early Learning Centre. This role is crucial in fostering the growth and development of young children in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 1 to 2 years.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year and less than 2 years in a similar role.
Work Environment

The work setting is primarily within a day care centre or nursery school, which is air-conditioned to ensure comfort for both staff and children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support colleagues with housekeeping and meal preparation tasks.
  • Provide care for infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
  • Design and implement educational programs that enhance the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records as required by early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Encourage creativity in children through various forms of artistic expression, dramatic play, music, and physical activities.
  • Engage children with storytelling, music, and craft preparation.
  • Guide children in developing healthy habits related to eating, dressing, and toilet training.
  • Prepare snacks and organize spaces for meal and rest times.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and any concerns.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment that prioritizes the health and well-being of all children.
Physical Demands
