Cascadia Windows & Doors is seeking a highly skilled Safety Officer to join our Construction Services Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our staff in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular site visits to review safe practices and identify potential hazards.
- Compile and maintain safety programs, documents, and registers to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Hold and document regular Toolbox meetings to share best practices and promote a culture of safety.
- Implement and maintain health and safety standards, including the disposal of hazardous waste.
- Establish and maintain a cordial and professional relationship with employees to promote a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and premises to identify issues or non-conformity.
- Support the development of OHS policies and programs, and advise and instruct on various safety-related topics.
- Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
- A bachelor's degree or an associate degree in a relevant field.
- Valid competency certificates and registration as a Health and Safety Officer.
- Strong communication skills and minimum of 3 years experience in a safety officer role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications and experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices and experience in conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
