Overview: The Canadian Association for Neuroscience is offering a doctoral student position in the Sephton laboratory at Université Laval. The selected candidate will conduct research utilizing animal models and cell-culture techniques to assess the implications of this metabolic shift.
Research Methodologies:The successful applicant will employ various advanced techniques, including:
- Immunohistochemistry

- Neuron-glia co-cultures
- Lipid and protein mass-spectrometry
This research aims to clarify how lipid metabolism is managed in the central nervous system and its potential impairment in familial ALS models, contributing to a deeper understanding of the disease's pathogenesis.
