Transformative Opportunity in Financial Management

Valor Search is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Accounting Services to lead our financial transformation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing visionary leadership to the Accounting Services department, ensuring efficient operations, and driving financial excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage accounting operations, providing strategic direction and ensuring high performance within budget limitations.
  • Drive financial excellence by managing accounts payable and receivable functions, safeguarding and reporting on fixed assets and revenue sources, and administering the Purchasing Card program.
  • Innovate and implement accounting procedures and internal controls for new initiatives, lead financial system changes, and prepare comprehensive management reports and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance and integrity by coordinating month-end and year-end financial statement preparations, maintaining compliance with statutory legislation and accounting guidelines, and leading CRA commodity tax audits.
  • Foster a high-performing team by recruiting, motivating, and evaluating staff, providing training and mentoring, and advising on financial policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • A minimum 4-year undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, or Commerce.
  • CPA designation required at the time of hire.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, including management and public accounting.
  • Deep knowledge of full-cycle accounting and technical expertise.
  • Experience with financial system upgrades, implementations, and external auditing.
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly.
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills to mobilize action and engage others.
