Job Summary:
The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our Emergency Department team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary health care team, you will provide comprehensive primary care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality and act in an ethical manner, consistent with professional expectations and hospital policies
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain clinical competence and currency with legislation affecting practice
- Develop in-depth expertise in leadership and provide guidance to nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members
- Provide comprehensive primary care to patients, including health assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with patients to develop person-centered plans of care and engage in regular dialogue about their care
- Document clinical data, assessment findings, diagnoses, and plans of care in a timely and accurate manner
Requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class (Primary Health Care or Adult)
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and a good attendance record
- Practicing as a care partner on interdisciplinary teams and demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- SLMHC is committed to delivering health care in a manner consistent with patient and family-centered care
