Position Overview

Are you passionate about providing exceptional nursing care? We are currently seeking a committed Licensed Practical Nurse who is eager to deliver compassionate care to patients at BCJobs.

This role operates within a client and family-centered care framework, adhering to the standards, scope, and ethical guidelines established by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor or designated authority, and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse employs the Nursing Process to conduct assessments, plan, and deliver nursing care, while also providing guidance to other staff members.

The LPN functions in alignment with the expected competencies outlined in the Entry to Practice Competencies, Scope of Practice, and Standards of Practice as defined by BCCNM, as well as within a client and family-centered care model and in accordance with organizational policies and unit-specific protocols.

The LPN is responsible for supporting clients and their families in achieving and maintaining optimal health through the following duties:

Work Schedule: Shifts include Days and Evenings, from 07:00 to 15:00 and 15:00 to 23:00 (Rotating)

Qualifications:

  • Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN.
  • At least one (1) year of recent, relevant experience in acute care or residential settings.

  • Proven knowledge and skills in a specific clinical specialty or patient demographic, depending on the nature of the caseload (e.g., acute care, gerontology, palliative care).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to delegate care and share expertise with the multidisciplinary team, clients, and families.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with clients.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to observe and identify changes in clients' conditions.
  • Proficient in planning, organizing, and prioritizing care initiatives.
  • Competence in operating relevant equipment and utilizing necessary computer applications.
  • Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
