School District #22 (Vernon) is currently seeking a qualified Education Assistant Level 1 - Bilingual French to join our team.

Job Summary

This is a 10-month, 27.5 hour per week position that requires a strong ability to learn and use new technology, as well as possess literacy, numeracy, and English skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop rapport with students and work in a team setting.

Responsibilities
  • Support students with special education needs in a classroom setting
  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents
  • Use technology to support student learning
  • Work collaboratively with other support staff
Requirements
  • 6 months relevant training or equivalent education
  • Recent Okanagan College Education Assistant certificate or equivalent
  • Practicum experience or training in dealing with resistant students and conflict resolution
  • Familiarity with current special education technology
  • Bilingual - fluency in French and English
