This role as a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Mechanic involves working primarily in our well-equipped shop. Please note that travel and accommodation are not provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on highway tractors and trailers, including brands like Peterbilt and Kenworth
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines and after-treatment systems (Cummins, CAT, Mercedes)
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and PTO systems
  • Work on clutches, transmissions, and differentials
  • Conduct commercial vehicle inspections
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, inspect machinery, and replace or repair defective components
  • Interpret work orders accurately
  • Manage shop operations and delegate tasks effectively
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all safety regulations

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification required
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Class 1 driver's license is a plus
  • Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is advantageous
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
  • Ability to provide personal tools for the job
