Heavy Equipment Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Brandt, a leading manufacturer and distributor of heavy equipment and machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment in a shop and field environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and diagnose the working condition of heavy equipment, and perform repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently to complete tasks.
  • Dismantle, repair, and assemble industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications.
  • Operate hoisting devices to position machinery and parts during assembly, installation, and/or repair activities.
  • Test and provide feedback on existing and newly manufactured industrial equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Prepare electronic inspection and service reports.
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred.
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence.
