Job Overview

As a Strategic Development Program Trainee at EMCO Corporation, you will embark on a comprehensive 5-phase program designed to equip you with in-depth knowledge of our business operations. This includes shipping and receiving, sales, operations, purchasing, account management, and other essential aspects of our wholesale distribution of plumbing, HVAC, waterworks, and industrial products for the construction industry.

Phase 1: Warehouse Logistics

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the products we sell, from vendor to customer, and develop expertise in sales support.

Phase 2: Counter/Operations

  • Participate in customer service, counter sales, order management, inventory control, pricing, credit management, financial statements, and other key operational functions.

Phase 3: Inside Sales/Project Management

  • Evolve from assisting customers with product and service issues to managing large-scale projects.

Phase 4: Outside Sales/Account Management

  • Learn to identify new business opportunities, sell our products, negotiate contracts, and build strong relationships with customers and vendors.

Phase 5: Career Development

  • Determine your ideal career path by leveraging the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the program.

Requirements

  • College or University degree
  • Positive attitude and results-oriented mindset
  • Desire to continuously learn and grow
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and high standard of integrity
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Excellent communication skills for building strong relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing and building products is an asset
