At OMERS, we're committed to empowering our employees to make a meaningful impact. As a highly motivated student, you'll have the opportunity to join our Tax team in Toronto for a twelve-month term and contribute to the servicing of Oxford and OMERS compliance needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns with precision and accuracy.
  • Prepare GST/HST returns and other tax-related filings as needed, ensuring timely submissions.
  • Assist in researching and analyzing tax issues, providing insightful recommendations.
  • Draft technical memos, instruction letters, and other tax-related documents for review by senior staff members.
  • Provide support in handling government audits and enquiries, ensuring seamless communication.
  • May also assist with US tax matters as required, leveraging your analytical skills.
Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts.
  • Proficiency in Corporate Taxprep, Trust Taxprep, and Partnership Taxprep Forms, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Currently enrolled in an Accounting and Financial Management program, with a strong academic record.
  • Detail-oriented and able to consistently produce accurate deliverables, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Dedication to exceptional performance and professionalism, with a strong team player mentality.
  • Strong time-management skills, self-motivation, and ability to multi-task, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and provide insightful recommendations.
