THE ROLE
Logistics Terminal Supervisors serve as the primary liaison between our professional drivers and local clientele. They play a crucial role in ensuring that our drivers are equipped with the necessary resources to perform their duties safely and effectively. Additionally, they are responsible for timely and efficient communication with drivers to address any issues or inquiries. This is achieved through collaboration with various teams and acting as a vital source of information within the organization.
This position reports to an Area Manager and interacts with Company Drivers, Independent Contractors, Service Centers, management, Safety, Human Resources, and local clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drivers:
- Collaborating with Recruiting and Sales teams to maintain appropriate driver levels based on revenue forecasts, new business opportunities, and anticipated turnover.
- Enhancing driver retention and partnering with Human Resources on initiatives addressing turnover trends.
- Conducting performance evaluations and annual reviews for drivers, including establishing measurable objectives.
- Understanding and adhering to Independent Contractors' agreements and applying local collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
- Working closely with Service Centers to ensure fair and efficient driver dispatching.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Addressing and resolving driver complaints or concerns.
- Providing coaching and mentorship to drivers, emphasizing open communication.
Customers:
- Maintaining communication with local customers and addressing their concerns.
- Expanding our local customer base through exceptional market insights.
Safety:
- Collaborating with the Safety Trainer and participating in all safety meetings.
- Ensuring the terminal is organized, clean, and free from safety hazards.
- Conducting regular Ride Alongs with drivers.
Equipment:
- Ensuring the terminal has the appropriate assets to effectively manage all business opportunities.
- Working directly with Shop and Washrack operations to expedite fleet readiness.

REQUIREMENTS
- 5-7 years of relevant experience and/or training.
- A minimum of 2 years of management experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the transportation sector.
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Experience with various systems and software.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record of achieving bottom-line results.
- Experience with bulk and/or hazardous materials is advantageous.
Minimum education or formal training includes:
- Mandatory High School Diploma.
- Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
