Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at the Aquaculture Centre of Excellence. The successful candidate will conduct and lead mass balance studies related to the supplementation of plant-based proteins in fish diets under aquaponics growing conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and conduct experiments to investigate the nutrient distribution in aquaponics using mass balance analysis
  • Develop and implement methods for analyzing plant-based protein supplementation in fish diets
  • Collect and analyze data, and present findings in various meetings and publications
  • Supervise and train junior lab members, and collaborate with colleagues from the group and other research groups
Requirements:
  • PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, plant biology, or microbiology
  • Expertise in biochemistry and analytical chemistry, including LC-MS, GC-MS, and ICP skills
  • Good basic bioinformatic and general computer skills, and proven ability to learn and apply new skills
  • Excellent understanding of plant metabolism and ability to carry out innovative research with publishable outcomes
  • Excellent organization and record keeping skills, and good communicative, collaborative, and interpersonal skills
