Nurse Practitioner Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to lead our Primary Care and UPCC services in the Interior Health region. As a Nurse Practitioner Lead, you will provide leadership, facilitation, and practice support to our Nurse Practitioners, working collaboratively with our Executive Director, Nurse Practitioners, and Director, Nurse Practitioners.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including Nurse Practitioners, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement strategies to advance Nurse Practitioner practice and services, including education and research initiatives.
- Provide leadership and support to our Nurse Practitioners, including mentorship, clinical practice feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with our Clinical Operations leadership teams to ensure that accreditation standards are met and monitored appropriately.
- Develop and implement processes and mechanisms to assess practice and provide clinical practice feedback to our Nurse Practitioners.
- Establish supports for the development of collaborative practice models within our interprofessional teams.
- Develop and implement a professional practice model for our Nurse Practitioners, including opportunities for mentorship and development of competencies.
- Manage and oversee NP services in the assigned sectors, in collaboration with the Director, Nurse Practitioners and in consultation with site/program Directors.
- Evaluate clinical performance for NP direct reports on an annual basis.
- Maintain fiscal accountability by collecting and monitoring necessary fiscal and utilization data to ensure effective use of resources in the service area.
- Current practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a Primary Care & UPCC environment, supplemented by five (5) years of clinical practice and educational and/or program development experience in a complex health care environment.
- Current medical staff hospital privileges associate (Primary Care & UPCC).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions and time constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to identify variances and implement strategies that lead to desired outcomes.
- A valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal car is required.
