TÜV SÜD is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Safety Specialist to join our team in Ottawa, ON, Canada.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented individual to work as an Electrical Safety Specialist, responsible for inspecting, testing, and photographing products for conformity assessment with international and national regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test products for conformity assessment with international and national regulations.
  • Generate test procedures and maintain confidentiality of customers, products tested, and internal information.
  • Correspond with customers and product safety agencies, such as UL, CSA, and VDE, regarding product design approaches for safety.
  • Stay up-to-date with present and future product safety requirements, test procedures, instrumentation, technology, and TÜV America Engineering service capabilities.
  • Validate clients' requirements and provide help to customers and staff during their safety test program.
  • Work within the controls and constraints of an ISO 17025 Quality System.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of product safety experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite of tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Accurate, clear, and timely communication of information, upward and lateral, including verbal, written, and listening skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Good knowledge of CB and NRTL safety testing and certification requirements.
  • Basic to good knowledge of standards such as IEC/UL/CSA/62368-1.
Working Environment:

This position requires the ability to perform product setup and testing activities involving lifting and manipulation of equipment up to 25kgs.

Adhere to all TÜV SÜD Americas policies and procedures as outlined in the various Corporate Policies and the Employee Handbook.
