In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and contributing to the overall success of our Home Centre department.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide information, assistance, and service to customers in a manner that promotes the sale of merchandise and meets their needs and expectations.
- Merchandising and Inventory Management: Maintain a high level of product knowledge and ensure that the sales floor is well-merchandised and meets or exceeds association standards.
- Supervision and Training: Supervise and train staff in the general operation of assigned sections, including merchandising, inventory levels, and ordering.
- Reporting and Analysis: Review and act on various reports as they pertain to the section, as directed by the Merchandising Manager.
- Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Be familiar with and adhere to Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures.
- Service Orientation: Strongly service-oriented and motivated, with the ability to serve and assist customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Product Knowledge: Prepared to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics, and training sessions.
- Experience and Skills: Possess sufficient experience in Hardware and Building materials to effectively operate in all areas of the department, and specialized knowledge and a minimum of two years' experience in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, heating, paint, or tools.
- Physical Demands: Able to fulfill physical job requirements, including lifting and carrying of 50-75 lbs of force occasionally, 10-20 lbs of force constantly, and the ability to climb ladders.
- Availability: Willing to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
