Your Opportunity:
The Family Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions, case management, and the coordination of care for clients and their families within the Children's Day Treatment Program. This program is dedicated to assisting children facing significant and complex mental health challenges along with co-occurring conditions. The Family Support Specialist works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and is expected to manage an advanced clinical caseload, providing family and individual assessments, therapeutic group sessions, milieu management, and crisis intervention. Adaptability is essential for practice within a dynamic continuum of care.
Description:
As a Family Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, formulating diagnoses, delivering treatment, and ensuring follow-up care for clients and their families. You will also engage in clinically focused consultations with other programs or community resources and serve as a liaison to foster and promote preventative health initiatives within the community. Collaboration with other healthcare providers and community service organizations is vital to guarantee a seamless continuum of care.
Required Qualifications:A master's degree in a health-related discipline is required. Candidates must be actively registered or eligible for registration with the relevant Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:Completion of Brain Story Certification is preferred. Experience in Collaborative Problem Solving Training is also preferred.
