Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team within the Specialized Rehabilitation Outpatient Program. As an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, you will provide evidence-informed services to individuals, groups, or communities, with a focus on occupational performance and client-centered treatment interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide team intake assessments, individual occupational therapy assessments, and interdisciplinary treatment
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop client-centered individualized treatment interventions
  • Delegate treatment interventions to therapy assistants and travel to clients' homes in the community to provide assessment and treatment
  • Report to the Manager of the Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team
Requirements
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • Experience working in stroke rehabilitation of adults, interdisciplinary teams, and effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments with minimal direction and work independently with adults in their homes and community
Preferred Qualifications
  • Membership with S.A.O.T. or C.A.O.T.
  • Home Care experience
  • Experience in the provision of adapted or specialized equipment
  • Familiarity with Outlook and Connect Care
