Shannex Incorporated is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Regional Dietitian to join our team in Colchester/Cumberland, Nova Scotia. This role involves travel to our Amherst, Debert, and Bible Hill locations.

As a Regional Dietitian, you will play a vital role in ensuring the nutritional well-being of our residents. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Collaborating with culinary teams to develop menus that adhere to therapeutic nutrition guidelines and cater to diverse dietary needs.
  • Conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents upon admission and at regular intervals, monitoring their weight trends, and addressing any concerns.
  • Providing personalized dietary counseling and education to residents, families, and staff, empowering them to make informed choices about their health.
  • Developing and implementing specialized nutrition plans for residents with specific dietary requirements, allergies, or medical conditions.
  • Leading educational sessions on various nutrition-related topics, promoting awareness and understanding among residents and staff.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of resident nutritional care plans and clinical indicators, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Overseeing the dietary budget, managing purchase orders, and verifying invoices for payment.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual who possesses:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from an accredited institution.
  • Membership in a recognized professional association, such as the Dietitians of Canada.
  • Exceptional communication, computer, and organizational skills.
  • A genuine passion for providing high-quality nutrition care to seniors.
  • Experience working in a long-term care setting is an asset.
