We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at the City of Vancouver. As a key member of our Finance, Risk & Supply Chain Management department, you will play a critical role in providing financial analysis and support to our Utility Division.
Key Responsibilities- Provide financial analysis and support to the Utility Division, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Coordinate and calculate utility fees billed to property owners, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct research and analysis into cost component structures, including reporting on the implementation of financial aspects of agreements.
- Liaise with other departments and provide coordination on issues involving internal audits, risk management, and insurance requirements.
- Assist the Engineer with the review of business processes and the development of strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in commerce, accounting, finance, economics, or business administration.
- Designation or eligibility as a Professional Accountant.
- Five years of increasingly responsible professional experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, and financial analysis, including lead and supervisory responsibility.
- Experience in negotiating and mediating problems related to agreements and data reporting.
- Basic knowledge of municipal financial reporting standards and regulations.
- Good knowledge of data entry, database access, word processing, spreadsheet development, and computer applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, and report writing skills.
- Excellent business skills, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
