Aircraft Deicing Technician Responsibilities

As an Aircraft Deicing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe aircraft operations by:

  • Utilizing specialized equipment to remove ice and snow from aircraft.
  • Performing airfield security duties and escorting aircraft.
  • Conducting thorough inspections and clearing foreign object debris (FOD) from designated areas.
  • Acting as a first responder for spills and debris cleanup, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  • Training new employees on equipment operation and safety protocols.
  • Maintaining and cleaning deicing equipment and vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
  • Performing landscape maintenance tasks at designated areas to contribute to overall airfield upkeep.

Qualifications for Success

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in aircraft deicing operations and heavy equipment operation.
  • A valid Provincial Driver's G License.
  • A D/A class AVOP permit.
  • Confined space certification.
  • Transport Security Clearance.
