The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Leader of Operations to join our team in the Pediatric Day Surgery & Recovery Room and Pre-op Clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the efficient and effective operation of these units, ensuring high-quality patient care, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care and ensure compliance with NAPAN standards
  • Collaborate with the Departments of Anaesthesia and Surgery, as well as OR Leadership, to optimize OR block and waitlist time
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, promoting a culture of learning and professional development
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing evidence-based solutions
  • Anticipate and address staffing needs, ensuring adequate coverage and support for patients and staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with Nova Scotia College of Nursing required
  • Minimum of 3 years recent Pediatric Perioperative Care Unit experience required
  • Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Level (BLS) Program within the last 12 months, or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate, required
  • CAN Peri-anesthesia Certification preferred
