Position Overview

The role of a Purchasing Officer at United Enterprize CHWK Ltd. involves critical responsibilities in the procurement process, ensuring that the organization acquires the necessary resources efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement of Goods and Services: Responsible for acquiring general and specialized equipment, materials, and business services.
  • Needs Assessment: Evaluate the requirements of the organization to formulate precise specifications for the necessary equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Specification Development: Create detailed specifications for the items to be procured.
  • Supplier Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Supplier Consultation: Maintain communication with suppliers to ensure alignment with organizational needs.
  • Staff Management: Oversee the hiring, training, and supervision of procurement staff.
  • Quotation Review: Analyze and review supplier quotations to determine the best options.
  • Contract Management: Define contract terms and conditions and award contracts to suitable parties.
  • Delivery Coordination: Establish and monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods.
  • Problem Resolution: Liaise with clients and suppliers to address and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Logistics Oversight: Plan, organize, and manage the operational logistics of the organization.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a College or CEGEP program.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months in a relevant field.
  • Certifications: Membership in the Supply Chain Management Association of Canada and a provincial purchasing management association is preferred.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week. The primary language of work is English.
