- Our **Procurement Specialist** position has a **salary range of $75,000 to $90,000** per annum based on years of experience and a skills assessment during the interview stage. Increases are then reviewed throughout employment.

Contract Manufacturing is looking for an experienced and energetic **Procurement Specialist** to join our team in Chilliwack, BC**.**
The **Procurement Specialist** is responsible for planning material requirements for each project, negotiating and purchasing raw materials, and other supplies. The **Procurement Specialist** will collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs, purchase supplies and materials according to specifications and coordinate and supervise receiving procedures.
**Essential functions for this role are**:
- Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
- Establish procedures and supervise the cycle counts, quarterly and annual physical inventory
- Maintain Minimal inventory levels for all goods purchased for specific projects
- Interface with Project Engineers on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments
- Develop and maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers
- Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications
- Ensure that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
- Ensure prompt and accurate updating of the computer systems
- Prepare reports on inventory, material usage and efficiency
- Resolve any material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions
- Create strategic solutions to improve material flow at multiple levels
- Provide daily leadership, supervision and support for all Inventory team members
- Maximize team member development by developing and following cross training plans
- Ensure team members follow workplace rules and policies
- Work with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure safe work practices and workplaces are maintained at all times including ensuring team members are adequately trained to perform role and use tools and machinery
- Ensure team members follow Company safety procedures when working and operating tools and machinery
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of new team members including onboarding and creating training plans
- Review and approve team members hours and vacation requests
- Conduct and complete probationary reviews and bi-annual reviews for team members
- Supervise, evaluate and coach staff members
**if you have the following experience, qualifications, and skills, we want to hear from you**
- Experience in Project Estimating** **and Supplier negotiating
- ** 5+ years’ experience **in the** Industrial manufacturing industry**:
- ** 5+ years OEM Equipment Procurement experience**:
- ** 5+ years raw material (Structural Steel, Steel Sheeting and Aluminum) negotiation experience**:
- Experience working in/working knowledge of an ERP systems (Visual ERP is preferred)
- Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
- Knowledge and compliance with the OH&S program
- Strong knowledge of safety due diligence for supervisors
- Ability to solve problems swiftly
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
