Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team at LifeLabs. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in patient care, responsible for specimen collection, phlebotomy, and laboratory support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and interact with patients, ensuring a positive experience and collecting required information for specimen collection.
- Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings as required.
- Collect and prepare specimens for transportation and testing, maintaining the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Complete data entry of patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant details.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and laboratory operations.
Requirements:
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent experience in phlebotomy, intravenous infusion, and/or intravenous therapy.
- ECG training or experience is an asset.
- Proficient data entry skills and excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality.
