About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at RESIDENTIAL INSULATION SPECIALISTS INC. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for our residential insulation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Cost Management
    • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for residential insulation projects
    • Develop and maintain a directory of suppliers and trade contractors
    • Analyze tenders and recommend awards to ensure optimal cost savings
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss changes and adjustments to cost estimates
    • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely estimates
  • Quality and Compliance
    • Ensure all estimates are accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies and procedures
    • Develop and maintain a system for monitoring and reporting on cost estimates
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field
  • Certifications and Memberships
    • Membership in the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Work under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality estimates
    • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in estimates
    • Work 32 hours per week in a fast-paced estimating environment
