What Is the Opportunity?
We are in search of a highly skilled and motivated Senior HCM & Payroll Functional Analyst to become part of Aecon.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with business process leaders and end users to gather project and enhancement requirements. Partner with other functional team members and the development team to design, build, and implement functionalities that meet business needs. Work alongside the Solution Architect to ensure that specific functionalities align with the overall technical vision. Oversee application design in accordance with Aecon's business processes and requirements. Develop functional specifications and assist in creating technical specifications. Collaborate with the Technical/Development team to implement functional system enhancements. Coordinate with the internal application security team to maintain appropriate application access roles and permissions. Create or contribute to the development of necessary training materials. Serve as a liaison with internal clients for troubleshooting, investigating, analyzing, and resolving software issues for production incidents. Configure application functionalities for various requirements/enhancements. Document and execute Unit Testing and System Integration Testing. Work with the QA Lead and QA Team to ensure thorough QA testing. Collaborate with other internal IT departments to ensure optimal work processes are maintained. Provide support and expertise post-go-live for initial rollout projects. Ensure adherence to current best practices for the application and its underlying infrastructure (Servers, Databases, security, etc.). Follow Application and IS change management processes and expedite changes for high-priority issues as necessary. Work closely and effectively with application support/implementation vendors for daily operations and other tasks. Participate in Internal, Customer, and Regulatory Audits as required. Prepare documentation and training materials as necessary. Exhibit strong multitasking abilities to manage multiple deliverables and projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

5 to 10 years of experience in configuring HCM & Payroll functional areas. A University Degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution. Proven ability to thrive in a high-demand environment, managing multiple priorities, resolving issues promptly, and meeting challenging timelines. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address urgent payroll-related issues efficiently. Excellent decision-making, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in the construction industry is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft suite products. Demonstrated capability to perform business impact assessments and troubleshoot complex integration issues. Proven track record of providing timely services to customers to maintain high satisfaction levels. Experience in gathering business requirements. Ability to educate end users on system configuration and design alternatives. Support clients through decision-making and process design. Ensure deliverables are completed within deadlines and meet quality expectations. Act as a subject matter expert on projects.

Specific Role Requirements:
Expertise in SAP HCM (Human Capital Management)

The role necessitates proficiency in SAP Payroll, Time Management, Benefits, and interface building, with hands-on experience in at least two end-to-end implementation and support projects. A deep understanding of Canadian payroll tax regulations is essential for accurate payroll processing. Configure and customize PCRs within the SAP system to address specific Canadian payroll requirements, including deductions, taxes, and benefits calculations.
