Junior School Occasional Supply Teacher Opportunity

Branksome Hall, a leading independent International Baccalaureate (IB) World School for girls, is seeking a qualified Junior School Occasional Supply Teacher to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide classroom coverage on an as-needed basis in the Junior School, assisting with supervision, co-curriculars, and implementing the program within the classroom as assigned.
  • Establish a supportive rapport with students and colleagues, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Deliver lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students, promoting academic excellence and personal growth.
  • Utilize relevant technology to support instruction and enhance the learning experience.
  • Supervise students during lessons, recess, and lunch, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with Primary/Junior qualifications and a minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience.
  • Specialty in French, Phys Ed., or Music is an asset.
  • Experience in and knowledge of IB is an asset.
  • A proven ability to establish a caring rapport with students.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology and ability to work in a laptop environment with required devices and applications.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Work independently with little direct supervision.
  • Accept responsibility and be self-motivated.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • A positive attitude and ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
