Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance, Reliability, and Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our team at Windsor Salt. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
Main Responsibilities
- Health and Safety: Utilize industry best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, including work planning and scheduling.
- Technical Expertise:
- Identify opportunities for improvement and provide input on day-to-day operations.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve plant performance.
- Participate in and lead root cause analyses to resolve problems.
- Collaborate with operators and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and ensure plant operation.
- Work with the project specialist to design, install, and commission new equipment.
- Collaborate with production to analyze asset performance and develop improvement plans.
- Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Assist the maintenance group with inventory management and procurement.
- Plan, schedule, and communicate maintenance work schedules and plant shutdowns.
- Manage contractors as needed.
- Employee Management: Work closely with the maintenance supervisor to direct the bargaining unit workforce and ensure execution of requirements.
- Administrative: Maintain accurate records and systems to support the effective performance of the function.
- Environment/Quality: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to environmental, food safety, and quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical, creative problem-solving, planning, and organization skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage conflict in a stressful environment.
- Knowledge and application of safe work practices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, and Microsoft Project.
Work Environment
- Work in a seated or standing position for prolonged periods, perform office or clerical duties, and travel between office and plant environments.
- Work in a general office and manufacturing plant environment.
